I will never use professional athletes as role models for my children. They earn millions of dollars for playing a game. People kiss their asses without knowing anything about them, or in spite of their personalities.

I prefer to reserve role model status for Boston firefighters and professionals of that caliber. As far as whether the Yankees or Red Sox players are better or worse morally or otherwise, there is no dispute that Jeter is a class act - but I admit that so is Pedroia.

With respect to Cano with baseball in hand, I have a framed photo of Carlton Fisk punching Thurman Munson with baseball still in hand. Don't throw stones at glass houses, grasshopper. (By the way, you better still be taking my kid to B's games.)Dennishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11720820387176685451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4830642000417535591.post-40260642229971000762009-01-17T06:50:00.000-08:002009-01-17T06:50:00.000-08:00Let free will decide????? So those photos on the ...Let free will decide????? So those photos on the side aren't propaganda to sway ones decision towards the evil empire then? Lets break down these role models you have chosen for your pride and joy.

Zimmer: The senile old goat that forgot to take his medication and went on the attack and charged Pedro who just defended himself by swatting the old coot to the ground. Role model number 1? questionable

Roger: Where do i begin? i guess a good starting point is the assault with a deadly weapon, being the bat he threw at Mike Piazza. And well we all know about the steroids. Role model number 2? Violent junkie

Cano: Isn't he the guy who cleated a bullpen employee at fenway park? And the picture says it all...about to hit a guy with a baseball. might a i remind you that Mike Lowell is well respected family man... maybe he would be a great role model, thats just me thinking out loud...what do i know? Role model number 3? more violence and he's probably not even an american citizen.

Now I might not be as well spoken or know as many big words as Dennis but what i do know is if you surround a child with drugs and violence the path he or she is going down is already chosen. I know i said if i could make baby T a bruins fan I would step aside form the yankees red sox thing. But after reading this blog I think i would be guilty of child endangerment if i did that. I have a lot of soul searching to do between now and baby T's arrival. And Dennis you have a lot of parenting skills to brush up on. I would hate to see you on an episode of Dr. Phil being chewed out by that talentless hypocritical hack. I've said enough now I need to take my dog for a walk.Phillip Skrabuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15715978339042739245noreply@blogger.com
